Petra Nimtz was born and raised in Germany, though it was not long before her adventurousness led her to explore new lands, sights, tastes, and textures.

She is an intuitive painter working with lyrical brush marks and palette knives. Using paint and mixed media, Petra covers areas of the entire canvas in bright colours, textures and marks that are expressions of inner workings. She attempts to keep herself excited about what she is doing by not worrying about what she paints, but about how she changes it.
